VoiceBox Live is a community, a community of creatively minded people who have come together to make and share creative
content of all kinds and genres.
Everyone in the community is a member and has paid a small annual
administration/membership fee (currently £12.00 per annum) in order to help
with funding and running the site.
The purpose of VoiceBox Live is to link members wanting to share content with an audience of members who want to view it. And it does this through a simple Broadcast Channel Guide and Broadcast Schedule that lie at the very heart of what VoiceBox Live is able to offer.
By joining VoiceBox Live members agree to be bound by a few simple but critical Rules. These rules are designed to make sure the VoiceBox community and everyone in it are kept safe and that the content published meets all the standards that pertain at the current time within the UK.
If you are not currently a member of VoiceBox Live you can join by clicking this link Join VoiceBox Live. The link will take you to a very simple and straightforward membership application page where you will be asked to verify your age, provide details of a home address and a valid credit card, which for security reasons must be in your own name. You will also be able to pay directly online to obtain your VoiceBox Live log-in and password.
If you are already a member and you want to view content on the site but you are not sure how to find and access the
content you are interested in, then follow this link to the
Viewing a Broadcast
instructions page.
If you are a member wanting to upload material into the viewing schedule – the instructions are all on this page –
Making a Broadcast.
The Member Log-in
page gives you access to a record of all the bookings you have made
either to view a broadcast or to make a broadcast. Clicking on a broadcast listed in your member log will take you
either to the Broadcast Preparation and Management page or to the Live Broadcast itself.
Its important to note that this link will only work if you are within a time slot 15 minutes prior to the start or 2
mins after the start.
You will also find a list of all the broadcasts you have made or watched previously.
If you book to view a performance but haven’t logged into the broadcast within 2 minutes of its start time – your booking will be automatically cancelled and made available to other members. You will still be able to view the broadcast – but only if there are slots available within the maximum allowed for the performance (usually 100 members per standard show).
In order to make a broadcast on the VoiceBox Live platform you MUST be a member.
Non-members can view the two shows that are always available on our home page and they can access the calendar pages that show up-coming events and broadcasts but they cannot access any of content on the calendar.
Providing you are a member and have logged on (using your membership log-in number and password) you will be able to book your performance into the Broadcast Schedule. You can do this for any available time slot, any time up to 3 months from the current date and time.
All performance time is scheduled in 15 minute segments. These individual segments are all clearly laid out in the Broadcast Schedule. The schedule is divided up into types of performance (music, magic, cookery etc) and, where applicable, genre within these types (so in Music the genres are things like Country, Rock, Pop etc).
The Broadcast Schedule shows in real-time exactly which slots have been booked and which are still AVAILABLE to book. If a time slot is shown as AVAILABLE you will be able to book it by clicking on the time slot itself – this will bring up the PERFORMER BOOKING BOX. Complete the details requested in the PERFORMER BOOKING BOX for your performance and click on CONFIRM BOOKING. You can do this until approximately 15 minutes before the time slot you are trying to book. It’s up to you to decide the ‘Type’ of performance and the ‘’ within the type – but remember viewers will almost certainly search for content using standard terms so try to make sure you classify yourself carefully. If you don’t there is a high chance potential viewers wont find you.
If a particular time slot is filled with the name of a performer, then that slot has been booked already
and is not available for your booking. Just look through the schedule and find a suitable time that is still AVAILABLE and book it, before someone else does
To make sure all members get access to the Broadcast Schedule you can only book a maximum of 2 back-to-back timeslots – so the total performance time can be either 15 minutes or 30 minutes. And again to make sure that slots are spread evenly between all members, there must be at least 24 hours between booking you put into the schedule.
The Maximum Number of Live Performance Bookings you can have in the schedule is currently set for 10 per member. So that means you can enter up to 10 events into the Booking Schedule in a 3 month period. If you have already booked 10 events into the Booking Schedule the system will not accept further bookings from you until at least one of your live bookings has been broadcast.
If you didn’t log in when you entered the VoiceBox Live site then you will need to enter your log-in details within the PERFORMER BOOKING BOX before your booking will be accepted.
There are a limited number (usually 100, but sometimes many more) of audience places available for each performance on the Performance Schedule. Once a particular performance has reached the maximum number of viewers the colour of the listing on the Performance Schedule changes from GREEN to WHITE. You can only book in to watch performances that are shown in GREEN on the Performance Schedule. Providing there are still spaces available and you are a member, and have logged on (using your membership log-in number and password) you will be able to book a place in the audience for any performance currently shown on the Broadcast Schedule.
You can make a booking for any time up to 3 months from the current date and time. The Maximum Number of Live Viewer Bookings you can have active on the Broadcast Schedule at any one time is 10. So that means you can enter up to 10 bookings into the Broadcast Schedule in a 3 month period. If you have already booked 10 bookings into the Booking Schedule the system will not accept further bookings from you until at least one of your live bookings has been broadcast.
The Broadcast Schedule shows in real-time exactly which performances are still available to book into. If a particular performance is showing in GREEN it is still available. You will be able to book it by clicking on the time slot itself – this will bring up the VIEWER BOOKING BOX. Complete the details requested in the VIEWER BOOKING BOX and click on CONFIRM BOOKING.
Your audience place is now booked and this guarantees you a place in the audience for this performance.Making a booking adds the performance to the Booking List that is held within your membership account. It also activates a reminder system that will automatically send you a reminder email 15 minutes before the show commencement time. You can access the performance either by clicking directly on the link in the email, or by clicking on the event in the Booking List within your personal account.
You can enter the performance (make it live on your computer) anytime from 15 minutes prior to the scheduled performance start time and up to 2 minutes after the scheduled performance start time.
If you make a booking join the audience for a performance but fail to join the audience within 2 minutes of the scheduled performance start time then your booking for the performance is immediately cancelled. This makes the Viewer place available to all other members of VoiceBox Live. You may still be able to join the audience for the performance but it will depend on there being spare places available (someone else may well have grabbed your spot) and you completing a VIEWER BOOKING BOX again.
If you leave a performance for whatever reason having logged in, your place will be automatically cancelled and the Viewer place is immediately made available to all other VoiceBox Live members.
